		<description>One difference between Spolsky and Sterling is that Sterling lives in Austin.  Perhaps you feel like you *should* have met him by now, since he's practically right up the street from you.  &lt;br /&gt;

Linking to him from your blogroll is an act suggestive of personal familiarity. As much as you would like that to be the case, it is creating dissonance within your cognitive process because what you believe to be true conflicts with the reasons driving your actions.&lt;br /&gt;

just create a separate roll for "people I know" vs. "people I read" and viola.  mini-crisis averted.</description>
